Hi. I'm melissa.
I want to let you in on a big secret.
The fitness industry is a 60 billion dollar industry designed to profit off your failure.
Yep, I said it.
Even worse, it's designed to make you think that it's your fault.
I won't do it. I know it's not your fault.
Which is why I'm not going to tell you I am an expert on your body.
I am an expert on functional training (which is a fancy way of saying: working out so you move more efficiently and improve quality of life).
I'm also an expert believer.
Seriously, I believe in you so much you have no other choice but to believe in you, too.
This believer ability woke me up from a life I wasn't meant to live.
I had horrific back pain, an unhealthy gut (like hospitalized, swollen intestines kinda unhealthy), and significant anxiety.
I went to all the doctors and specialists, and tried all the medications.
I learned no person, place, or thing will ever teach me more about my body than my body.
And that's my belief... you are the expert on your body.
All I needed was to learn how to listen to myself;
how to live, eat, and be with intention;
how to put myself first.
I started You First in 2010 so I could teach you these big secrets.
In 2015 I restructured my entire business and put it online. You know what else happened in 2015? I had a baby.
My greatest gift, and fiercest life lesson, Cannon Cobb.
And I got it. I understood the things I used to deem "excuses".
I wanted to be the best wife, mother, and trainer...
which meant I had to put myself first again and find a way to make this stuff easier on everyone.
And so the birth of the You First Fitness App.
And life coaching, well, I had been doing it all along.
What started as a journey into personal training transformed into so much more over the years.
For the first time in my life, I learned to sincerely, completely and fully love myself. Can I get an AMEN?!
Today, I’m incredibly proud to be the healthiest I’ve ever been: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
I just had to choose me first.
Will you choose You First?
Other tidbits and fun facts?
I'm a hippie at heart. I love bodies of water, all.things.nature, working out (#truestory), writing, reading, connecting with people, concerts and sporting events (can't get enough of that energy), and life with my toddler.
